Master Class: Hawkes Bay and Martinborough, New Zealand

Where: The Community Tap: 217 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29609

When: Thursday, February 16th 12:30-1:30

Presented by Winemaker Daniel Brennan, winemaker at Decibel Wines

It's so very great to come back to Greenville, SC and to be hosted by my buddies Mike and Ed at the Community Tap.  They're truly the heart of my visits to South Carolina and they've introduced me to so many great people in the region.  So, I thought we'd do a bit of a Master Class and really get down to it.  We'll be looking at some appellations within Hawkes Bay, specifically The Gimblett Gravels, The Bridge Pa Triangle and the Crownthorpe Regions.  We'll also be going in depth about what I think is the best new world Pinot Noir region, Martinborough.  Below are some videos, tasting notes and links that can help familiarise yourself with these regions.
Looking forward to pouring you some great wines.

Here's a short video of when I took a hike up Roy's Hill, conveniently located across Highway 50 from my home.  Atop Roy's Hill you can see all the Bridge Pa Wine Growing District, the start of the Gimblett Gravels, and the Crownthorpe Terraces off in the distance.

Here's a great video from Villa Maria explaining the Gimblett Gravels then a short video showing some awesome shots of the famous Gimblett Gravels soils.  This was a piece for the program Thirsty Work with host Yvonne Lorkin.
