The team at Tablas Creek Winery in California is forging ahead into a new frontier, high-end box wine. Here at Decibel we will be closely following the results as it goes into the market. You may recall that we looked into alternative packaging and trialed canning our Giunta Sauvignon Blanc back in 2019 and while the wine faired well, the project was ended due to logistics.

The only canning facility in the North Island was in Auckland and when all was said and done, driving the wine up the country was not only was hugely expensive, but defeated the purpose of being more green with the packaging. We’ll wait for the Hawke’s Bay wine industry to catch up because we’re certain alternative packaging has a place in the future.
